Report an error
A calculator is only useful if it is right, so a wrong figure is the most useful message you can send. To let us reproduce it, please include:
- The page. The address from your browser, or the name of the calculator.
- What you entered. The value in each field, and any option you changed from the default.
- What the page showed. The figure, and the line it appeared on.
- What you expected, and why. How you worked it out: a spreadsheet, a textbook, a quote from your lender.
- Your browser and device. For example Safari on an iPhone.
You do not need to send real figures. A made-up example that shows the same problem is enough, and please do not send account numbers, loan documents or other personal details.
We try your numbers in the calculator and compare the result with the separate check described in How we check. If the page is wrong we correct it, and the page's Updated date changes.
Questions about the tools
Which calculator fits your problem, what a field means, where a rate comes from: write to us. Every page names the sources it relies on and gives the date of any rate it quotes, so that is the first place to look.
Questions about your data
The visit counter on this site holds no name or email address, so there is usually nothing in it to find. If you write to us, we keep your email and our replies, and we delete them if you ask. To ask what we hold, to have something corrected or deleted, or to complain, use the same address; Privacy lists what the site stores.
What we cannot do
We cannot give financial, tax or legal advice, review your loan or contract, or check a lender's quote for you. For that, ask your lender, an accountant or a lawyer.
